The story of the Hotel Annapurna began several years before its opening.

In 1961, Christiane and André Pinturault settled in Courchevel and opened Les Sherpas. At a time when the resort was still shaping its future, they were among the first to believe in the potential of the mountains and helped lay the foundations of this adventure.

Thirteen years later, they created the Hotel Annapurna. Built on land that was not highly sought after at the time, the hotel opened its doors at Christmas 1974. Its location, its architecture facing the peaks, and its warm family welcome quickly made it one of Courchevel’s most renowned addresses.

Since its opening, the Hotel Annapurna has grown alongside the Pinturault family.

Christiane and André laid its foundations. Claude supported its development for several decades. Today, Sandra Pinturault continues this story by evolving the hotel while respecting its heritage and preserving the same values that have guided it from the very beginning.

For Sandra, Alexis, and Cédric, the Hotel Annapurna is also the place where they grew up. They took their first steps there, shared family celebrations, and watched the seasons go by. As Alexis puts it:

“This hotel is our home. It has always been our home. A big home for sure, but still our home.”

For fifty years, the hotel and the family have been one and the same.

Deeply connected to its history, the Hotel Annapurna has never stopped evolving.

Over the years, the rooms, suites, and living spaces have been redesigned to meet the expectations of its guests, while preserving the spirit of the house. Renovations, new wellness areas, and signature design touches reflect this constant drive to move forward without losing what defines the property.

Fifty years after the opening of the Hotel Annapurna, the family adventure continues with La Maison Pinturault, a collection of properties that now brings together hotels, chalets, restaurants, and lifestyle venues in Courchevel: Hotel Annapurna, Hotel Les Peupliers, Chalets Altaï, Chalet Belrio, L’Épicerie du Praz, as well as five restaurants including the Michelin starred Alpage.

Each house has its own identity, but all are guided by the same values: passing things on, a deep love of hospitality, respect for the land, and care for the women and men who bring these places to life. A family story that continues to be written, season after season.
